Turkey’s election commission announced on Monday that a runoff has been scheduled for May 28 after no presidential candidate received more than 50 percent of the vote in the initial round, Xinhua news agency reported. According to the head of the Supreme Election Board, Ahmet Yener, Erdogan received 49.51 percent of the vote, while his rival Kemal Kilicdaroglu got 44.88 percent and third candidate Sinan Ogan got 5.17 percent. Whoever gets more votes after the second round of voting between Erdogan and Kilikdaroglu on May 28 will be Turkey’s next president.
