In video footage on social media, loud explosions could be heard and air defense systems could be seen shooting down suspected Russian missiles, the BBC reported. The government has warned people to stay away from windows. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said some rocket debris fell in central districts, including the city’s zoo. There are also reports of injuries to some people. Kiev’s military administration described this attack as the maximum missile attack in the shortest possible time. The BBC quoted a top official as saying, “According to preliminary information, most of the enemy positions in Kiev’s airspace have been detected and destroyed.”
