Europe News Desk!!! Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani has described the huge voter turnout in Turkey’s presidential and parliamentary elections as a sign of democracy’s victory. Kanani made the remarks in a statement published Monday on the ministry’s website, commenting on the widespread participation of Turkish citizens in Sunday’s elections, Xinhua news agency reported. He congratulated the people of Turkey, the organizers of the elections, leaders and political parties for the successful conduct of the vote and the victory of democracy. About 61 million voters have been registered to cast their ballots in Turkey’s first round of presidential and parliamentary elections. Around 35 lakh voters living abroad have already been called to cast their votes. The voting percentage was around 80 per cent.
