The ministry outlined the issues in a statement on Sunday on the occasion of Nakba Day, or Day of Extermination, which Palestinians observe on May 15 to commemorate the expulsion of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians from villages and towns in 1948. The statement highlighted the need for a diplomatic solution to enable the displaced Palestinian people to return to their homeland and hold a referendum to decide on their political system, Xinhua news agency reported. The Iranian Foreign Ministry called for the unity of the Muslim world and the unwavering support of the entire world for the oppressed people of Palestine.
