Turkey Election Results: Ardoan ahead of rival Kamal in initial results, supporters celebrating

Europe News Desk!! Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged to avoid announcing the results of the presidential election in a hurry, as the counting of votes is still underway. The presidential election took place in a positive and democratic atmosphere and vote counting is still ongoing, so the result should not be released in a hurry, candidate Erdogan said in a tweet on Sunday. The current President said, we are happy that our nation’s side is being reflected in the counting of votes. “I urge all our colleagues to stick to the process, whatever the outcome,” he was quoted as saying by Xinhua news agency. Turkey’s semi-official Anadolu Agency projected that Erdogan was leading the presidential race with 50.13 percent of the vote, while his main rival Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu won 44.09 percent. If it does not get more than 50 percent votes, there will be a re-polling on May 28.
