Europe News Desk!! Palestinian terrorists fire dozens of rockets at Israel. In response, the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) carried out airstrikes on Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) positions in the Gaza Strip. The attacks came hours before the ceasefire was expected to take effect on Wednesday evening. The IDF said rockets were fired at several cities in southern and central Israel, including the country’s financial center Tel Aviv. According to the IDF, about 300 rockets were fired into Israel on Wednesday. It said at least 60 rockets were intercepted by air defense systems and another ten failed to reach targets inside Israel. The IDF also announced that it struck more than 100 targets in the Gaza Strip.
Israeli emergency services said there were no reports of injuries during the attack. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security consultation on Wednesday. Several local media outlets said that a cease-fire between Israel and Gaza’s militants had been brokered by Egypt. However, Netanyahu said that his country’s offensive against the Gaza Strip was not over yet. Israel’s Defense Minister Yoav Galant said the operation would end soon.
