The Deputy High Commission hosted a party to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla and the event was attended by many guests from various walks of life, including government officials, business leaders and British citizens. Rowett said at the event: I am delighted to be hosting this tea garden party to celebrate the coronation of King Charles III and Queen Camilla. It is a historic occasion for British people and I am honored to share it with friends in Chandigarh. Saturday’s celebrations reflected a modern and diverse UK, home to many religions including Hinduism, Sikhism and Islam. The representatives of the coronation were carrying the insignia. King Charles has had a deep and abiding love for India and I look forward to further strengthening the relationship between the UK and India in the years to come. The tea ceremony was held at the Deputy High Commissioner’s residence, which was decorated in the theme of a traditional English tea party. During the party, guests were served traditional English tea, cake and scones. The guests enjoyed the beautiful ambience and coronation music.
