Delhi News Desk!!! Around 2,300 Indian nationals have reached India safely from war-torn Sudan. Another batch of 40 people reached the national capital on Sunday. Giving an update on Operation Cauvery, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar said in a tweet that a C-130J aircraft of the Indian Air Force landed in Delhi carrying 40 passengers. He further informed that around 2,300 people have reached India by this flight. More than 500 people have been killed in Sudan since fighting broke out between the country’s army and paramilitary forces on April 14. An Indian citizen was also killed in the civil war. Prime Minister Narendra Modi, after reviewing the situation prevailing in Khartoum about 10 days ago where he insisted on an evacuation plan for Indian nationals living there, launched a massive rescue operation called Operation Kaveri to bring back Indians. The decision was taken. With the help of Indian Navy warships and aircraft, 2,300 Indian nationals have been successfully brought back to India from Khartoum via the Saudi Arabian city of Jeddah.
