Europe News Desk!! Iran’s Defense Minister Mohammadreza Ashtiani has said that the US and some Western countries want to escalate the conflict in Ukraine by continuing to send arms to Kiev. Ashtiani made the remarks during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Viktor Khrinin in New Delhi, India on Thursday, news agency IRNA reported. In the meeting, they also highlighted the need for expansion of bilateral relations. The Iranian defense minister stressed that Iran would support any diplomatic effort that would lead to a peaceful resolution of the Ukraine war, Xinhua news agency reported.
He said the interventionist and one-sided approach of the US and some western countries has led to an increase in conflict and insecurity in different parts of the world. Ashtiani said that Iran and Belarus need to work towards enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation. The Belarusian minister praised the cooperation between his country and Iran over the past three decades, saying that despite international pressures and sanctions, Iran has managed to become a strong country in the international system, follows a stable foreign policy and maintains its Emphasizes the protection of rights. He stressed that both Belarus and Iran promote multilateralism and respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries.
