Jordan’s Foreign Ministry gave this information in a statement. Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, during a phone call with his Iranian counterpart Hossein Amir-Abdullahian, vowed to continue a pragmatic and transparent bilateral dialogue to resolve outstanding issues between the two countries, including the Jordan-Syria situation. Emphasized the need Safadi said Jordan wanted to maintain good relations with Iran based on the principles of non-interference in internal affairs and cooperation, Xinhua news agency quoted the statement as saying. Hossein Amir-Abdolahian said Iran is looking forward to developing good relations with Jordan, whose regional role is highly valued. The two ministers agreed to move forward with joint security meetings on the remaining issues and continue high-level communication to reach understanding. Significantly, despite having diplomatic relations, relations between Jordan and Iran have long been tense.
