Europe News Desk!! At least three bomb attacks have rocked the Ecuadorian port city of Guayaquil this week. There is no information about any casualty in these. The National Police has confirmed this. The attacks took place between Thursday night and Friday morning, Xinhua news agency quoted Intelligence Police Director General Alain Luna as telling reporters. The three explosions occurred in the Alborada, Pascuals and downtown areas of the country’s second most populous city and its industrial center. The attacks came hours after the US embassy in Ecuador issued a security alert for Guayaquil, saying it had received information that criminals were possibly planning bombings around the city on Thursday night.
Earlier Tuesday, a group of 30 masked men armed with pistols and rifles opened fire indiscriminately on workers and traders at a seafood warehouse in the port of Esmeraldas, on the border with Colombia. At least nine people were killed and four others were injured in the attack. The attack came amid a state of emergency declared by Esmeraldas’ government in March due to rising crime and violence. Meanwhile, President Guillermo Lasso called on the police to act resolutely amid the wave of violence and crime facing the country.
