An Indian national had poisoned his wife and strangled their two children before jumping from the 11th floor of their apartment in Al Buhairah, Sharjah Police revealed a preliminary post-mortem report. Forensic examination revealed that the 35-year-old man poisoned his wife, two daughters aged 3 and 7 had strangulation marks, reports Khaleej Times. There were no signs of violence on the bodies of the wife and children. Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander-in-Chief of Sharjah Police, confirmed that the man was a resident of Sharjah but worked in the neighboring emirate, Khaleej Times reported. He said the man had no motive or financial crisis which forced him to take the extreme step.
Police said further investigation is on to ascertain the motive behind the suicide-murder case and the officials are interrogating the wife’s friend. Sharjah Police immediately dispatched paramedics to the scene after receiving information about the incident at 5.45pm (local time) on 28 March. Investigating officers had recovered a note from the man’s body stating that he had killed his wife and two children, and asked them to move his body upstairs. After the hospital, the bodies were taken to the forensic laboratory. The bodies of the woman and her daughters will be repatriated after the investigation report is handed over to the Public Prosecution. The family was living in the building for the past six months.
