Israel’s Magen David Adom rescue service said in a statement that the incident happened in a bar and restaurant area along Tel Aviv’s seaside resort. Citing a rescue service statement, Xinhua news agency said three of the injured tourists had minor injuries and the other two had minor injuries. According to a police statement, the attacker rammed his car into passers-by before opening fire. He was shot dead on the spot by a police officer. State-owned Kan TV News reported that the attacker was identified as an Arab citizen of Israel living in Kafr Qasim, east of Tel Aviv. On Friday, two British-Israeli sisters aged 16 and 20 were killed and their mother seriously wounded in a shootout in the northern West Bank, according to Magen David Adom. Following the attack in Tel Aviv, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ordered border police and the army to call up reserve forces in the wake of terrorist attacks, according to a statement issued by his office. The attack comes amid escalating violence between Israel and Palestinians, which began earlier this week with Israel’s raid on an al-Aqsa mosque compound in East Jerusalem.
