Kerala News Desk!!! A 52-year-old man from Kerala on Wednesday confessed to killing his Indian wife and two children aged six and four in the UK last year. He will be sentenced on July 3, 2023. Saju Chelawale, of Petterton Court, Kettering, pleaded guilty at Northampton Crown Court to three counts of murder of his wife Anju Ashok (35), a staff nurse at Kettering General Hospital, and their two children Jeeva and Janvi Saju. All three died on 15 December 2022 after emergency services were called to Petherton Court to reports that they had suffered serious injuries. After their deaths, forensic post-mortem reports at Leicester Royal Infirmary concluded that all three died of asphyxiation. Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Inspector Simon Barnes, said: This was an absolutely tragic case and there are no words to explain the devastation that Saju Chellavalele caused when he decided to end the lives of Anju, Jeeva and Janvi.
I am pleased that he has pleaded guilty and saved Anju’s family and friends the pain of a trial, Barnes said. He will have to live with his actions forever and I hope that one day he will truly understand the pain of his actions. A statement released by Northamptonshire Police said Saju had moved with his children to his wife in the UK last year. Saju, a driver by profession, was disheartened after failing to get a job. The couple used to fight because of poverty. Finally last year he killed all three.
