We should strengthen the development of renewable energy sources and accelerate the energy transition, the press service of the energy ministry quoted Galushchenko as saying, Xinhua news agency reported. It is a matter of national security and security of power transmission. Galushchenko said that moving to green energy would decentralize electricity production, reduce the vulnerability of the power system and increase the security of energy supply. From 2011 to 2021, the share of renewable energy sources in Ukraine’s electricity production is expected to increase from 4 percent to nearly 14 percent.
