Iran vows to respond to attacks on Syrian targets

Europe News Desk!! Iran has vowed to respond to attacks on targets set up to fight terrorism in Syria. Iran’s Supreme National Security Council’s spokesman, Keyvan Khosravi, was recently arrested by some US officials, news agency IRNA reported. In response to the allegations made on The Iranian spokesman stressed that the US side resorted to blame game to avoid possible consequences by using false accusations, Xinhua news agency reported. Khosravi said Iran has paid a heavy price for fighting terrorism and maintaining stable security in Syria. He stressed that Tehran would oppose any move that threatened Syria’s stability.

Iran said it has an advisory role in Syria and is present in the country at the request of Damascus. The US military launched an airstrike in northeastern Syria on Thursday afternoon after a drone attack on an American base in the country. In this, an American contractor was killed and five soldiers were injured. US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin later said in a statement that the precision airstrike targeted facilities in eastern Syria used by groups affiliated with Iran’s Islamic Revolution Guard Corps. On Friday night, Islamic resistance fighters targeted two US positions in eastern Syria with 60 rockets and kamikaze drones in response to the US attack, according to IRNA. A US official confirmed to CBS News that an American soldier was wounded in Friday’s strikes targeting US positions in Syria.
