Europe News Desk!!! Ukraine and the European Union (EU) have extended an agreement on road transport liberalization by a year till June 30, 2024. Commenting on the deal, Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Oleksandr Kubrakov said it has proved its effectiveness in the first months of its existence, Xinhua news agency reported. During the period of its validity, the volume of bilateral and transit road freight traffic has increased by more than 50 percent, Kubrakov said. Kubrakov said that since the deal took effect, the number of carriers crossing the EU border from Ukraine has increased by 53 percent year-on-year. Ukraine and the European Union signed an agreement on road transport liberalization in June 2022, aimed at boosting Ukraine’s exports. Under the agreement, cancels the obligation of Ukrainian drivers to obtain special permits for the transportation of goods in the European Union and simplifies the procedure for recognizing driving documents of Ukraine.
