Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky and visiting Latvian counterpart Egils Levits have signed a joint declaration reaffirming Latvia’s support for European and Euro-Atlantic integration of Ukraine. The document was signed during the meeting of the two presidents in the western Ukrainian city of Lviv on Friday, Xinhua news agency reported. After the meeting, Zelensky highlighted the importance of the declaration and appreciated Latvia’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and membership in the European Union and NATO. Levits said that his country would continue its support for Ukraine. We will provide help as long as it is needed, he said. The two sides also discussed ways to strengthen the Ukrainian military, continuation of sanctions against Russia, Latvia’s participation in the reconstruction of Ukraine, and other issues.
