Italy: PM Giorgia Meloni and PM Modi inaugurated Raisina Dialogue 2!

Europe News Desk!! Raisina Dialogue 2 on Geopolitics and Geo-economics was launched by Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In his inaugural address on Thursday, Meloni said that India and Italy deeply believe in the rule of law, a human-centred vision where democracy, peace, science and progress go hand in hand. Drawing attention to the need for strong leadership in times of global turmoil, he said threats posed by climate change, terrorism, war and rapid digital transition can only be faced through greater international cooperation and resolve.

Meloni pointed to the growing connectivity between Europe and the Indo-Pacific and its positive implications for trade and strategic partnership. They also recognized the importance of the G20 as a global grouping that can jointly address complex challenges, and assured Prime Minister Modi of Italy’s support for India’s intervention as G20 Chair. He said the joint commitment to advance the G20 agenda is one of many areas of mutual interest and that India and Italy have recently decided to elevate their bilateral ties. On this occasion, External Affairs Minister of India S. Jaishankar proposed the vote of thanks. He remarked that when the world is facing unprecedented uncertainty, there is an able leadership with solutions for every challenge.

The Raisina Dialogue, in its eighth edition this year, is being held in New Delhi between March 2-4. The title of this year’s conference is Provocation, Uncertainty, Turbulence: Lighthouse in the Tempest? Is. During this time volatility will be discussed, solutions will be found and a collective plan will be made to help everyone move forward on the path of progress. Raisina Dialogue 2023 will consist of more than 100 sessions. It will include panel discussions, roundtables, studio sessions and events aligned to five thematic pillars. This year, over 2,500 participants from over 100 countries are participating in the Raisina Dialogue. These include serving and former heads of state, ministers and lawmakers, diplomats, policy planners, military officers, heads of multilateral institutions, business leaders and eminent thinkers.

All the open-door sessions of the Raisina Dialogue will be streamed live on the official Raisina Dialogue Twitter handle, Observer Research Foundation’s YouTube channel and Facebook page. Significantly, in its eight editions, the Raisina Dialogue has established itself as India’s premier geo-political and geo-economic conference, shaping global public policy conversations around the world. The Raisina Dialogue is being hosted by the Observer Research Foundation and the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
