Palestine condemns Israeli PM's visit to West Bank

America News Desk!!! Palestine has condemned Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s visit to the Israeli settlement of Har Brakha near the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said in a press statement on Thursday that Netanyahu’s provocative visit to the West Bank and the hostile statements and stances taken by him are rejected and condemned. A statement released by Netanyahu’s office said he and his wife Sarah arrived in the settlement on Sunday to console the families of two Israelis killed in a shootout by Palestinians in the town of Hawara, south of Nablus. On Sunday, a Palestinian gunman opened fire on a vehicle and killed two Israelis in Hawara. In response, Israeli residents attacked the city and burned dozens of cars and homes, Xinhua news agency reported. The Palestinian Foreign Ministry said Netanyahu’s visit was contrary to the rules of international law, UN resolutions and signed agreements. It said the visit reveals the true face of the Israeli government and its prime minister, undermining the opportunity to revive the peace process. The Israeli prime minister’s visit comes amid ongoing tensions between Palestinians and Israelis since January 1. Israel took control of the West Bank in 1967 and established dozens of settlements on it.
