One dead, seven injured in armed clashes at refugee camp in Lebanon

Europe News Desk!!! One person was killed and seven others were injured in armed clashes at a refugee camp in southern Lebanon. Local media gave this information. Fighting that started at Ain al-Hilweh camp, a Palestinian refugee camp in Saida, flared up on Wednesday, according to the national news agency on Thursday. In addition to the casualties, several cars and shops were also heavily damaged in the clashes, Lorient Today, an English-language news outlet in Lebanon, reported on Xinhua news agency. After a period of lull till Wednesday night, the firing resumed on Thursday morning. Schools in Ain al-Hilweh camp, run by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestinian Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), decided to close their doors on Thursday due to the security situation and ongoing conflicts. Schools and universities close to the camp were also closed on Thursday keeping in mind the safety of the students. Local media reported that several Palestinian factions have stepped in to intervene in the conflict, while Ashraf Dabour, the Palestinian ambassador to Lebanon, is working on mediation.
