Europe News Desk!! Three quarters of foreign refugees who settled in Lithuania in 2022 came from Ukraine. This information has come out from official figures. According to Statistics Lithuania, the majority of Lithuanians traditionally come from Britain, Norway and Germany, which last year stood at 5,684, 1,546 and 1,369 respectively, Xinhua news agency reported. According to government figures, 14,352 Lithuanians were repatriated and 12,697 left the country. In 2022, 95,400 people immigrated to Lithuania, and 23,000 left the country. Of all immigrants, 81,000 are foreigners and three quarters of them are refugees from Ukraine. Statistics Lithuania said that 62,000 refugees who fled Ukraine in 2022 have been registered. In 2019, 24,510 people came to Lithuania and 20,412 left. Last year, the total number of permanent residents in Lithuania reached 2,860,000, increasing by 54,000, mainly due to an influx of refugees from Ukraine.
