
Europe News Desk!!! Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva on Tuesday handed over 684 houses to low-income families in the northeastern city of Santo Amaro. He restarted the housing program My House, My Life. The My House, My Life program was first launched in 2009 during his second term as president, Xinhua news agency reported. The program aims to provide 2 million homes to low-income families by 2026. During the ceremony in Santo Amaro, Bahia state, Lula authorized the resumption of construction work on more than 5,000 homes nationwide as part of the program. On Tuesday, preparations were made for allotment of a total of 2,745 houses in different cities. The government is expected to restart another programme, Water for All, to build cisterns in water-scarce areas after Brazil’s Carnival celebrations next week.
