Europe News Desk!! A Palestinian teenager was seriously injured and later died on Tuesday in clashes with Israeli soldiers in the Faraa refugee camp near the West Bank city of Nablus. This information was given by the Palestinian Ministry of Health. The ministry said 17-year-old Mahmoud al-Aydi died after being shot in the head by Israeli soldiers, Xinhua news agency reported. Local sources and witnesses said that an Israeli army force stormed the refugee camp to arrest Palestinians allegedly involved in attacks against Israeli forces in the West Bank.
An Israeli military spokesman said in a statement that the Israeli army and security forces conducted routine operations in several areas of the West Bank, adding that Israeli troops confiscated weapons and arrested Palestinians wanted by Israel. The statement said a Palestinian suspect approached the soldiers with an explosive device and the soldiers returned fire. The killing was the latest in a year of violence between Israelis and Palestinians. Israel’s security forces have carried out daily raids in the West Bank, killing at least 45 Palestinians since the beginning of 2023. Israel says the raid is aimed at arresting suspects in a string of attacks against Israelis. Tension has been rising in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, mainly since the formation of Israel’s right-wing government led by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in December last year.
