Europe News Desk!!! Cuban firefighters are battling to put out a second massive forest fire in the country’s eastern province of Holguin. The fire has caused disruption in the mountainous region of Pinares de Mayari, with the fire threatening to spread to the rural towns of Vivero 2, Pueblo Nuevo and La Mensura, the Cuban news agency reported on Monday. No casualties or injuries have been reported so far, according to Xinhua news agency. Earlier in the year, a forest fire burned about 1,000 hectares in the mountainous region of El Prado in the eastern municipality of Mayari. The provinces of Pinar del Río, Artemisa, Holguin and Camagüey and the Isle of Youth were among the worst hit by the fires last month, according to Cuban officials. The Caribbean nation is facing a prolonged drought affecting 62 percent of the country, Cuba’s Meteorological Institute said.
